The Modern Ancients' primary focus is improvisation, exploration, and extrapolation of timeless themes.

The intent is to improvise and blend various genres with standard songs as a framework, and to experiment and to explore those themes, thus creating spontaneous music within the moment in real time.

The musicians have played every conceivable style of music from avante-garde to zydeco. It is now time to bring everything together and spontaneously combust.
